in chinese tradition, the bottle or calabash gourd 葫蘆, can absorb negative energy, hold medicine or liquor, and can even house pet crickets. the gourd has been a recognized symbol for health since ancient times.

this series is a grappling with tradition, convention, and heritage; duty, self expression, and reconciliation. wheel thrown in stoneware or porcelain.
